Showing Our Local Communities Some Love

At ServiceSource, one of our three core values is ‘Doing the Right Thing.’ In the same way we always ‘Do the Right Thing’ for our customers, we believe it’s incredibly important to give back to the communities in which we work and live. In the spirit of the holiday season, we’re taking some time to reflect back and share some of the outstanding work our employees around the world have done this year to support their local communities.

2014 was a busy year for ServiceSource volunteers. Our global employee-led volunteer program, PowerSource, hosted over 40 volunteering efforts across our San Francisco HQ and our seven Sales Centers. This past summer in San Francisco, several executives on our leadership team braved the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge (brrr!), encouraging other leaders throughout our company to step up to the plate and compete as well. Most recently, we hosted a Wish Drive for the Bay Area Family Giving Tree, with over 100 gifts donated to help bring some holiday cheer to local families in need.

In our Denver and Nashville Sales Centers, employees hosted several fundraising activities including silent auctions, raffles and bake sales to support the annual Light the Night Walk, a campaign in October to raise funds and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Combined, our Denver and Nashville employees raised a whopping $35,000 in 2014 for these worthwhile causes.

Across the pond in our European Centers, our Dublin employees partnered with the Irish Cancer Society to raise funds for cancer research, and with local children’s charity Barnardo’s to host their annual children’s holiday party and toy drive. In Liverpool, our employees supported Zoe’s Place, a hospice for children with life-threatening illnesses. Throughout the year employees raised £2,000 for the charity and participated in a 10k run last spring to raise awareness for the cause.

In our Asia Pacific Centers, employees in Japan donated their time to help a very special set of athletes excel in the Special Olympics, while the Singapore ServiceSource team supported their local Breast Cancer Foundation raising over $5,000 through a silent auction event. In our Center in Kuala Lumpur, employees sponsored The Shelter Home Orphanage, and held a week-long donation drive in which they received hundreds of donations ranging from clothing, to household items to food.

We are looking forward to more positive contributions in 2015. ServiceSource employees love spending time out in our communities and feeling the energy of the positive impact we make in the lives of others. Winning as a team is in our DNA – together there is nothing we can’t do to support our local communities!
